New Bajaj Platina 110H review

Introduction

Motorbikes have been a popular way of urban commuting in Bangladesh. However, between the rising price of the latest bikes and their impractical day-to-day use and mileage comes the 110cc commuter bike category with its excellent mileage and relatively low price tag.
In that particular category, Bajaj Platina 110H was always on top of people's choices in our country. Now that the competition in this category is higher than ever, in this Bajaj Platina 110 H gear review, we will discuss the key features and specifications of Bajaj Platina 110H to show you why it can be a good choice for you.

Key Features:

After several hours of the test drive, we decided to discuss the findings and review the key features of Bajaj Platina 110H and point out where this bike shines. This bike has some great upgraded features too that we haven't seen in any previous Platina bikes. So let's talk about them.

Outlook and Ergonomics

At first glance, Bajaj Platina 110H looks quite decent with a slick and compact body. The seat height is great and works well for both bigger and smaller people. Though the handlebar seems to be a little lower to us according to the test drive, we think it's a personal preference how others might see it.
This bike comes with a single, stitched, long seat that is very comfortable to sit on for a long time without sweating for the seating arrangement. Moreover, as a lightweight commuter vehicle, Bajaj has successfully turned down the extra vibration that low-power bikes usually have so that you can ride this bike without any major encumbrances.
Overall, Bajaj Platina 110H offers a smooth and balanced driving experience with user-friendly ergonomics on the road. As for color options, you get Platina's trademark Cocktail Wine Red with Ebony Black Red and Ebony Black Blue, and all the colors look great.

Engine and Transmission

Anyone who previously rode Bajaj Platina 125 or previous 110cc versions before knows how capable and smooth these small Platina series engines are. Bajaj Platina 110H boasts an air-cooled single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 115.455cc engine with a max power number of 8.6 Ps at 7000rpm and a max torque of 9.81 Nm at 5000rpm.
Additionally, with DTS-i technology, the engine generates less vibration, more power than a regular 4-stroke engine, prevents overheating, and quicker throttle response. The transmission system of this bike is a manual one, paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
With the conventional transmission system, there is Bajaj Platina H gear BS6, which, according to Bajaj, is a particular highway gear that ensures a smoother and comfortable gear shifting on highways.

Dimension, Weight, and Ground Clearance

Overall dimension and weight are arguably one of the most important aspects of a balanced and responsive bike. However, these factors can be intimidating as the weight or dimension sometimes can be too much for smaller or female riders.
If we consider the height of 119 Kg and an overall length of 2006 mm with a seat height of 1085 mm and width of 704 mm, this bike seemed like a pretty balanced package for both smaller and bigger people.
The ground clearance of Platina 110H is 220mm, which is really impressive for a regular commuter bike, preventing underbelly scratch from the bumpy roads in our country.

Suspension, Brakes, Wheels

The suspension system of this bike may not be the best Bajaj has to offer, but they are still way ahead of the competition in the 110cc category. At the front, there is a hydraulic telescopic suspension with 135 mm fork travel, while at the back, it has an SOS suspension Nitrox gas canister 110 mm travel.
If there is one thing that an ideal commuter bike needs to ride smoothly on the roads of our country, it's a high-quality suspension system, and the suspension this bike has is enough to put the rest of the competition to shame.
The suspension also plays an essential role in a bike's braking performance and behavior. Platina 110H has a 240 mm disc brake at the front wheel and a 110mm drum brake with the rear wheels. Though one paper the brakes may not seem like anything different from other bikes in this category, the braking distance and stability were far superior, according to our testing.
Both wheels of the bike have tubeless tires, delivering adequate grip for day-to-day commuting and minimizes the chance of getting flat.

Mileage and Electrical

One of the biggest selling points for this bike is Bajaj Platina mileage. With our test drive, we were able to achieve a whopping 70 Kmpl mileage on city roads. Furthermore, with a primary fuel capacity of 11.5L and a reserve capacity of 2L, you can ride this bike for weeks without running out of fuel with a full tank.
If you compare Bajaj Platina 110 price with the mileage it delivers, only a handful of bikes can outperform it.
To power the lights, horn, and dashboard, this bike equips a standard 12V 5Ah battery. The dashboard is upgraded, too, with everything on the dashboard being digital except for the RPM counter.

Pros

  • Great balance and stability with a compact design
  • DTS-i engine provides a faster and more efficient combustion
  • One of the best mileage in its category
  • Comfortable to ride for a long time
  • The braking system works great for the money

Cons

  • Low power headlights
  • Minimal dashboard information
  • Tires could have been a little wider

Our Verdict

With Bajaj Platina 110H, Bajaj has done a great job by creating a bike that is capable and covers every ground an ideal 110cc bike should cover.
Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear price is another appealing factor, considering quality components, stability, handling, and bikes' performance. Of course, you might not get all the high-end features and performance of a premium bike, but Bajaj Platina 110H is still stepping ahead of the competition in its category.
